🌓 Is Santorini Cold In December

How long are you on Santorini for? You could wait until you arrive there and decide whether that's a suitable trip after you have experienced the weather. We did a similar sounding trip a few years ago but it was during the day and later in the season. We only booked it a couple of days in advance. Edited: 5:02 pm, December 07, 2022 You can get very sunny days, but you may also get rain and wind. You may be able to go for a swim, but some people will find it too cold. Additionally, most people will need a jacket in the evening. The average temperature in November in Santorini is around 17˚C, with highs of 19˚C and lows of 14˚C. July is the hottest month in Santorini with an average temperature of 26°C (79°F) and the coldest is January at 12°C (54°F) with the most daily sunshine hours at 14 in July. The wettest month is December with an average of 74.5mm of rain. The best month to swim in the sea is in August when the average sea temperature is 25°C (77°F). In December, the average temperature in Santorini is 13°C. During the day, the temperature can rise to approximately 15°C, while at night it usually cools down to around 11°C. This makes the island relatively mild or cool at best during this time of the year. Rainfall The fall months of October and early November average 64 to 72 degrees, so it's pleasant to sit outside at a cafe, sipping the staple drink of a Greek frappe (cold coffee milkshake). December Santorini is one of the most popular islands in Greece. As mentioned above the Greek islands get so incredibly busy during peak season. This means that the shoulder season is the best time to visit Santorini. Santorini is expensive, especially in the area of Oia. If you go in the shoulder season you'll finder fewer people and cheaper prices. In December, it is very quiet, windy, wet, and most hotels and restaurants (but not all, of course) are closed. Most shops are also closed (Santorini is a major shopping destination). For a visit at this time of year, I would highly recommend the Peloponnese. Santorini's volcanic soil and windswept landscapes do not yield much apart from succulent cherry tomatoes, white aubergines, briny capers, and nutty-yellow fava beans. Toast your newfound knowledge with a cold beer or rich Greek coffee, and be sure to save some room for what is arguably the country's most beloved dessert: Loukoumades - Greece's unique take on donuts. Food tours in Santorini; 24 - Ride the Santorini cable car up to the top of the mountain RorN.
